These rules exist so every climber leaves Good Climbs in one piece and with a good story. Staff have full discretion to enforce them. If you're unsure about anything — ask. We'd rather pause your climb for a question than patch you up afterwards.
Before you climb
- Sign the waiver. Every climber must have a signed liability waiver on file. Climbers under 18 require a parent or legal guardian co-signature in person at the front desk.
- Check in at the desk. Tap your RFID keyfob or have staff find you in the system before stepping onto the mats.
- Watch the orientation if it's your first time. New climbers must complete a brief safety walkthrough.
- Wear climbing shoes (your own or rented). No bare feet, sandals, or street shoes on the mats.
On the wall
- Climb within your ability. Don't push to a height or a hold you're not ready to fall from.
- Down-climb when you can. Jumping off the top is hard on your joints. Reverse the route, don't plummet.
- No bouldering directly above or below another climber. Check the fall zone first. If someone's lining up, wait.
- Spotters are optional but encouraged on highball or dynamic moves. Brief your spotter before you start.
- Brushing: use the gym brushes only. Wire brushes damage the holds.
On the mats
- Mats are for climbing, falls, and brief rest only. Hang out off the mat: benches, lounge, café area.
- No food, drink (except water), or open containers on the mats. Spilled coffee + chalk + sweat = a wall we don't love.
- Keep loose objects off the mats. No bags, jackets, water bottles, or phones lying in the fall zone.
- Skin care: if you're bleeding, step off and clean up before continuing. Staff will help.
Children & minors
- Under 18 requires a co-signed waiver. A parent or legal guardian must complete the registration with the climber.
- Under-12 climbers must be actively supervised by an adult member who is present in the gym at all times.
- No play on unfinished routes or near setter ladders during sets.
Etiquette
- Share the wall. If someone's working a problem, give them space and a turn.
- Beta is a gift, not a given. Ask before offering unsolicited advice.
- Music: the gym sound system is the gym's. Use headphones for personal music.
- Phones: filming is welcome — please don't film other climbers without asking.
Things that get you sent home
Behaviour that creates a safety risk, harasses other climbers or staff, damages the facility, or violates Philippine law will end your session without refund. Repeat offences end your membership.
- Climbing while intoxicated or impaired
- Aggressive or threatening behaviour toward members or staff
- Damaging holds, mats, or fittings
- Bringing in your own holds, ropes, or equipment without approval
- Filming or photographing other climbers without their consent
- Bringing pets (other than service animals) onto the climbing floor
Branch use & pass scope
Good Climbs operates multiple branches. The rules in this section apply across all of them.
- Monthly, multi-session, and annual passes are valid at every Good Climbs branch. Show up at any location, tap in, and climb.
- Day passes follow the gym's current cross-branch policy:
- When enabled (Good Climbs' default), a single day pass may be used at any branch on the day you bought it. Gym-hop freely.
- When disabled, a day pass is locked to the first branch you check in at — for the rest of that day it works only at that branch. Subsequent check-ins at a different branch will be refused. If you bought your day pass at the wrong branch, the staff at the original branch can help.
- The current policy is printed on every day-pass receipt, so the exact rule for your pass is right there next to the OR number.

See something unsafe? Tell any staff member, or email hello@goodclimbs.ph. We take every report seriously and we don't name reporters in our response.
